Class Profile Matrix (`/class-profile`): Technical Architecture & Classroom Observation Protocol

How Department Heads and Classroom Teachers use the 6-column Appendix A matrix to demonstrate differentiated instruction (DI) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) during unannounced inspector learning walks.

1. Technical Engine: How the 6-Column Matrix is Calculated

Subscale scoring algorithms, Z-Score normalization, and automated UDL strategy triggers.

The Class Profile Matrix (Appendix A) executes a real-time psychometric derivation across all students enrolled in a specific class:

1. Sensory Pathway Derivation:

Calculates raw scores across Visual (\(VIS\)), Auditory (\(AUD\)), and Kinesthetic (\(KIN\)). If the top two scores are within 1 point, it classifies the learner as Multimodal (MMS).

2. Psychometric Thresholds:

Computes cohort Standardized Z-Scores:

\[Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}\]

Identifies true strengths (\(Z \ge +0.85\sigma\)) and acute support need areas (\(Z \le -0.85\sigma\)).

3. Automated UDL Triggers:

Maps diagnosed support need areas to concrete Universal Design for Learning accommodations (e.g. Graphic Organizers for Working Memory, Speech-to-Text for Verbal Encoding).

2. Step-by-Step Protocol for Classroom Learning Walks (Days 1–3)

How teachers and inspectors triangulate stated accommodations with live lesson delivery.

1
Display or Hand the Inspector the Class Matrix (Appendix A)

When an inspector walks into a classroom, the teacher or observer opens /class-profile?id=... (or hands the printed Appendix A sheet). The inspector immediately sees the cohort's sensory modalities and Tier 1/2/3 breakdown.

2
Triangulate Lesson Materials with Matrix Accommodations

The inspector checks whether the physical or digital materials in the room match the matrix (e.g. if the matrix shows a cluster of visual learners, the inspector looks for slide infographics, visual vocabulary walls, and flowcharts).

3
Validate Inclusive Provision Without Stigma

Inspectors observe that Tier 2/3 students receive subtle, dignified scaffolding (e.g., pre-printed sentence starters, audio clips, formula reference strips) without feeling isolated or singled out.

3. Gap Analysis & Future Recommendations for Class Profile Matrix

Enterprise enhancements planned to elevate the classroom inspection experience.

Recommended Feature 1 Smart Seating Chart Visualizer

Interactive classroom layout generator that places sensory-sensitive students away from high-noise zones and clusters complementary peer-tutoring partners.

Recommended Feature 2 1-Click Departmental Matrix Binder

Batch export all class matrices across an entire grade level or department into a single consolidated PDF binder for the inspection team.

Recommended Feature 3 Lesson Plan AI Scaffolding Assistant

Automatically generate ready-to-use differentiated worksheet prompts and activity task cards tailored to the exact sensory distribution of the class.
